4. Completion Of Defect Report Book

I understand the following:

4.1 Should a minor defect be found this must be documented immediately in the book before the driver forgets about it.

4.2 If a major defect is found the driver must report this immediately via telephone to operations or the workshop and send message on the workshop’s WhatsApp group.

4.3 On route repairs will be arranged between driver and workshop manager or scheduled repairs will be planned for when vehicle is back at the depot. The latter will only be relevant if the problem affects roadworthiness of vehicle.

5. Re-fuel Of Vehicle

I understand the following:

5.1 When re-fuelling the driver must always keep vehicle and fuel tank keys with him.

5.2 It’s the driver’s responsibility to unlock all vehicles caps.

5.3 Once done, it is the driver’s responsibility to ensure he closes and locks his fuel caps.

5.4 Always make sure you receive your fuel card back.

5.5 Ensure litres on receipt correspond with that of pump.

5.6 Before departure capture your receipt data onto trip sheet.

6. Stopping On The Side Of The Road For Inspections

I understand the following:

6.1 The company requires all drivers to do a vehicle inspection, tyre inspection and a schedule rest stop every 2 hours.

6.2 It is crucial for the driver to only make use of designated demarcated rest stop area’s while en route.

6.3 Always ensure your vehicles is well off the roadway when stopping to ensure the safety of yourself and other road users.

6.4 No stopping is allowed in the emergency lanes on the roadway unless in an unforeseen emergency situation. Always make use of your emergency triangles during emergencies.

6.5 No unauthorised passengers will be allowed in the vehicle, irrelevant if the vehicle is moving or in a stationary position.
